Need to check on the weekend. I've tested undervolting extensively on my 3090fe using the afterburner custom curve method (look on YouTube, a few good guides around). The reason I cant run 2010 on 900mv very long. RTX 4090+ R9 5900X.BOTH COOLED WITH LIQUID METAL. Latest version can't dump RTX 3080/3090 bios yet. Which is "good" but I might need to tweak it to be better since I primarily game in VR. 1800MHz at 800mV is a good undervolt IMO! I seem to be stable but not wanting to run into problems when ray tracing is introduced. So no matter what, it downclocks to meet the 70C. The reason my card does better undervolted than stock (I get 12700 or so stock I think) is that lower voltage means less power meaning it can do more with the 400W it is allowed to play with. I don't know the exact dB though since I have no way of measuring it. Good to hear it's similar. Lock the voltage and frequency with the key : L. Then switch to the regular Afterburner-window and click APPLY. My room is 28c right now so the temp is higher. The memory also gets +650Mhz as in the gigabyte, we leave some room for the maximum overclocking value to preserve the components. Thought I'd head back to this thread and mention this awesome test/benchmark. I do, however, want to hit +99% in framerate stability. But okay, this is totally new for me. Silent Base 600 - Window / HP Pavilion, Panasonic SA-PMX94 / Realtek onboard + B&O speaker system / Harman Kardon Go + Play / Logitech G533, Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 750W / Powerbrick, Logitech MX Anywhere 2 Laser wireless / Logitech M330 wireless, RAPOO E9270P Black 5GHz wireless / HP backlit, Cinebench R23 (Single Core) 1936 @ stock I was told by a little birdie that the next large batch was available on friday. I know how to undervolt with MSI Afterburner blindly. I am getting my 3090 Strix (November 2020 batch) and I can post my undervolt for comparison. I rolled up the sleeves and got down to tweaking, it seems pretty stable at 1800MHz with 800mV. Posted in New Builds and Planning, By @BetteBalterZen how did you get that Pure RT result of 35.28 FPS? When you open up MSI Afterburner strike CTRL+F in order to open the Frequency/Voltage Curve Editor displayed in the window on the right in the image above. Bjrn Endre
I wonder why people like to talk crap GPU-Z is a lightweight utility designed to give you all information about your video card and GPU. Thanks! Actually so much, that I had to increase the powerslider in Afterburner, to keep the 1815MHz from my undervolt. My 3090 is stable at 1815MHz with 850mV and the result is good - very, very quiet(low RPM)while gaming and after many hours my GPU will occasionally hit 67c but usually it sits at 65c. Features: I was happy with the TUF and didn't know it. Im a little confused why you would buy a 3090 and then not use the extra performance over the 3080? If I go below 1800 the hash rate will drop a lot so it is kind strange. . Linus Media Group is not associated with these services. Why does the RTX 3080/3090 series hashrate drop after a few minutes? By Also, just for info: my 3090 was perfectly stable at 1800MHz@850mV but after started playing games with Ray Tracing like Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition and Control I learned that my 3090 wasn't stable at all. The RTX 3090 should have like 125Mh/s on the algorithm DaggerHashimoto. You do this by clicking the Save-icon and selecint one of the slots in the right side. 110 MH/s and below 290W. I managed 1905/856. Memory chips on the RTX 3080 and 3090 are not sufficiently cooled. You have already briefly seen the values of the TUF 3090. Fan speed is set to 74, 1583rpm for all benchmarks. Sign up for a new account in our community. The card combines NVIDIA's top-dog RTX 3090 GPU with 24 GB of GDDR6X memory, the latest IceStorm 2.0 cooling solution, and Spectra 2 ARGB illumination. If you loose to much performance, increase frequency and voltage a step and try again. In the end you should set the volate to a value, test it with stress test-software, if it works possibly lower it a bit more and so on. When Heavenfreezes or crashes, I bump up the voltage a tiny bit, until Heaven doesn't freeze or crash. 850mV is pretty good, IIRC that should save you about 80watt. Temps could be better and other then bumping Memory, have left pretty much all at stock other then custom fan curve. If you really are able to run 2000MHz at only 0.7mV in heavy 3D workloads, while also using only 50 watts. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK. Under the test, with my previous undervolt setting, that used 100% (stock) on the powerslider, my GPU clock dropped from the 1815MHz to 1750-ish MHz, because maximum power was hit (the 100%). 4070 Ti running much slower than expected ? The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Yeah I'll try and play around with that tomorrow. Power limit is not undervolting just so you're aware. ThenI proceed to Time Spy Stress Test, which I have bought on Steam. Wut, is that stable??? Hard pressed to hit 60c and 270w draw. Feels like golden sample. Again. Like i say i think ive missed my chance to get a card out of this batch due to changing my order. One quirk of Nvidia's architecture which AMD copied by the way, is buffered memory. My results are very similar to you. Usually you just increase the clockspeed, sometimes with an extra increase in voltage and presto! It is on tpu, and it works fine on strix only problem is that one hdmi port is not working. The setting is Rockstable. Started 47 minutes ago Mine PC case is hot box Nzxt h510 without mesh; at least 10deg.celzius up due to closed front panel, so yeah 0.8v is way to go. Keeping my fingers crossed. I did confirmed actual clockrates , not mhz setuped in MSI afterburner. The Nvidia 3000 series cards tend to have high memory temperatures, so it is important to take care of proper cooling. Nice undervolt you have. Posted in Graphics Cards, By So yeah; Heaven until freeze or crash and thenTime Spy Stress Test. The bloody afterburner voltage adjustment was a bit of a pain, it has a mind if its own. A bit lower IMHO but that is what I got here. Temp is not quite accurate because I run the benchmark from idle. Lets see if it works and we can beat the stock card! My fan speed is 98-99. If you are currently looking for a suitable model, here are the values of the TUF @ Stock under the same conditions. AMDs Radeon RX 7900 XT GPU in free fall? A standard RTX 3090 Ti sports a thermal design power (TDP) of 450W, with some Nvidia board partners outfitting their custom RTX 3090 Ti models with a TDP exceeding 500W. It's easy! What I saw betterundervolt results had the guys from end 2020 and batches from March and later were cards with lower silicon quality in most cases, just luck I know. Next it is time to start up MSI Afterburner. My 3090 performs better than stock now. There shouldnt be any risk for damage to your card but just be aware of any risk regardless how minor it is. And will definitely see what I can achieve in terms of temps and power, dropping the curve further. The idea is to put as much load on the card as possible. Started 39 minutes ago Temps with fan ramped up usually get into mid 60's but haven't seen anything in the 70's yet, but it's winter here in Cali. - Less heat - Less fan RPM due to less heat, therefore less noise if that was a issue. Does MSI gaming trio has better memory cooling? What if you instead could find a way to lower both the temperature and the power draw while still getting almost the same performance? Used a peak of 302 watts. But still, 1791 wasn't even stable on ~820mV. The watts will still go up to 350. So we save almost 40 watts! Right now the card runs at the high frequency and voltage all the time. This shows you the clock frequency at various voltages. I haven't actually played around with my card when it comes to overclocking. Hi I have rtx 3090 Msi Suprim X, bought in April 2021. I was just pleased that I was getting higher FPS than stock, and better temps to be honest. I undervolt my 3080 to 0.9V at 1920MHz. If the Time Spy Stress Test have a framerate stability of 97.5% and up, it will complete the stress test successfully. As you can see the whole curve is now further down. Interestingly you can see the temperatures of my two NVME drives, one of them which is sitting below the GPU is at 38C however the other which is right above the hot GPU backplate is sitting at 50C.? Can anyone please help. That buffers memory writes and unless the gpu is fast enough, you don't see full activity in the memory subsystem. I ran the heaven benchmark through a few times giving the card a run to warm up before recording hardware information. With these I'm getting 122 MH/s at 314 W using excavator. Posted in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory, By Aha, so you haven't tested 2000MHz at 0.7mV in games or stress tests? In QHD and load scenarios that generate less load, were usually more like this at 250 watts on average. I was happy with the TUF and didn't know it. It's not though that there is a hashrate restriction on this card. - Very theoretically extend the life of the card (less heat) My preferred settings on a 3080 Gigabyte Gaming OC - 875mV set to a upper curve of 1965Mhz (down from 2000Mhz ish in many games stock) Drag the dot to the frequency you want. Bonnouji But wauw. Also it's insane how good that cooler is, keeps it cool and fairly quiet. You flash the Strix Bios on your Ventus? Well, my card is around 35c at idle too, so it's kinda close. It seems to be throttling because on some games the core clock is running at 1920MHz but it drops to 1545MHz on Heaven however on the manufacturers page states these specs: Did you get a decent deal on eBay? That just seems unrealistic but I'd love to be wrong haha. You are using an out of date browser. StickyPC Going back all the way to the 780, I remember finding the highest stable core and the highest stable memory and the highest fps i got was by backing down each maybe a third of they way back to "in da box' settings. I rolled up the sleeves and got down to tweaking, it seems pretty stable at 1800MHz with 800mV. Thank you, message was successfully sent. So my settings was 1815MHz @850mV, with 137% powerlimit. I thought I knew what was normal. Afterburner only lets me increase the power limit to 107%, I guess that's one benefit of having a STRIX over a TUF =]. Posted in New Builds and Planning, By Posted in Troubleshooting, By or they got sent a better binned card by nvidia for reviews. 3090 Ti Ergo Mining Setting The RTX 3090 Ti provides 274 Mh/s hashrate on Ergo with a power consumption of 264 watts. You just need to flash the bios. What you want to do is choose a lower voltage than the one you saw in GPU-Z and then set the frequency to the value you saw when running GPU-Z earlier. 3090 Ti MeowCoin Mining Setting The RTX 3090 Ti provides 66 Mh/s hashrate on MEWC with a power consumption of 450 watts. In the end you should set the volate to a value, test it with stress test-software, if it works possibly lower it a bit more and so on. I came to the term of undervolting, checked some videos, but it still seems too scary to start doing it, since i may fk something up - but as far as i read you can save up to 100w usage. Summarized here again: 1750Mhz in the Curve-Editor result in real 1785Mhz after the heating phase (think of the offset I already described by the P-States!) I like how Optimums 3090 is a FE version like yours. Certain. I think the max wattage I've ever pulled from it at stock was like 360. I have many questions because the undervolting on my strix 3090 didnt work out like i hoped: did you max out the power limit slider'? on 4k 60hz monitor with vsync on I get lower gpu utilization and temps go in heavy games up to 70 deg or 65deg. When it came up, it immediately gave an advantage to Nvidia because the memory didn't have to suffer the full brunt unless the gpu needed it a hundred percent. The problem is the stock vbios don't let you go that high, I mining at 2000 is fine. Started 47 minutes ago We already know that you can lower the power limit, so far, so boring. The RTX 3090 Ti hashrate is 135 MH/s on the Dagger Hashimoto-based miner. Ideally the power scales with the square of the voltage. Do you get the same readings from fx HWiNFO? My 3090 can't do that, and it's a shame, because Optimum Tech reports his 3090 draws 71 watt less at 1800MHz using 806mV and that'spretty good. JavaScript is disabled. Obviously, we can use a more aggressive preset for more performance when we want to. Control and quake ii rtx are best for testing this. Max temperature during port royal stress test 69C (air conditioned room, 20C ambient) Peak power consumption: 289 watts, average is just over 280 watts with Power target capped at 94, this is to help stability due to the low voltage.
